We love community libraries where kids and kids at heart alike can come read books or borrow them! Going to the library was part of our weekly trip back then: Free Library in Makati: Union Church of Manila Library.
I was happy to read this news that there’s a new free library! Book Nook at SM Aura is a free library built with the intention of creating a community that believes in the value of sharing the love of reading.
It works just like The Little Free Library or The Book Stop Project : Free Pop-Up Library. It’s simple, you get a book and give a book in return.
- Check out a book.
- If you love it, register online with your SM Advantage card.
- Give a well-love book or a new book in exchange for the book you would like to take home.
Book owners are encouraged to share their favorite stories with someone by leaving a note in the pre-loved treasure they are donating.
With the on-going pandemic contact-less systems like contact tracing via the SM Supermalls QR code-based system, Trace Together, and with a QR code-based registration system for logging books that are donated and taken from the library are in place. A UV light box is used to sanitize all books -borrowed or donated – are safe and disinfected for the next book lover.
Book Nook will soon be hosting online and offline activities such as story-telling sessions, book launches, and meet & greet sessions with authors.
