The Philippine’s Martial Law Museum

The Martial Law Museum is a digital educational resource on Martial Law in the Philippines. It has a digital library, learning materials, and teaching resources.

It includes videos from Knowledge Channel KasaysayanTV Videos about history, reform and crisis, and people power revolutions.

The site has Martial Law lesson plans for Kinder to Grade 7 that tackles topics like basic rights, freedom, democracy, and ideology. 

The site covers from The Beginnings (1965-1972), when Martial Law (Sept. 21, 1972: Date of  Proclamation No. 1081 placing the Philippines under martial law) was declared on the night of September 23, 1972 by Ferdinand Marcos (1972-1981) to the nation by television and by radi , to the End of Martial Law (1981-1986), and the Lessons (Present).

“The Martial Law Museum aims to be a comprehensive online learning resource that our community of educators can use to teach the values of human rights, freedom, democracy and engaged citizenship to Filipino students through factual and engaging storytelling.

Through comprehensive and engaging storytelling, we aim to build national memory and promote engaged citizenship among today’s young Filipinos.”

This is a project is by Ateneo De Manila University.
