Sense Organ – The Eye

Our Grade 2 Science homeschool curriculum starts with learning the sense organs. We start off with The Eye. Luckily, there are plenty of free resources in the internet. The Grade 2 Science Textbook we are using is The New Science Links. We use it to guide us on the topics to cover for Grade 2 Science homeschool curriculum but so far, we use a lot of materials to learn about The Eye from the internet.

Based on The New Science Links textbook, the topics about The Eye for Grade 2 includes:

  • Parts of the Eye and their functions
  • Caring for the Eye

To learn about The Eye, we used the resources below. There are great videos, worksheets and science experiments for kids. There’s just plenty of homeschool activities about The Eye. However, some of them are already for higher grade levels.

Here are free worksheets you can use for The Eye. Some parts are for higher grade levels. You can just mention them and not ask the child to memorize.

  • Human Body Series – Vision – This is designed for Grade 3 due to a more detailed parts of the eye. But it still touches on the basic for Grade 2.
  • Anatomy of the Eye – This is the worksheet companion for the interactive webpage mentioned above.
