Learning Filipino Songs and Games with Awit at Laro

Gab received this Awit at Laro as a Christmas present. This books is “a celebration of the songs and games of our youth”.

Awit at Laro Book

Thank you Tita Anne O. for this gift!

The Awit and Laro book features 20 songs from Gary Valenciano, Lea Salonga, Ryan Cayabyab, Bamboo, and other top Filipino artists.

The book comes with a code to redeem the the digital song pack from music.abs-cbn.com. The book contains the lyrics of all of the songs divided into Awit and Laro – 10 traditional folk songs and 10 songs about games, so you can easily sing along.

The songs, like Bahay Kubo, Leron Leron Sinta, Paruparong Bukid, etc, have new sounds and new twists. This is a nice addition to our playlist so we can learn more Filipino words thru songs.

We are excited to play the games – patintero, piko, etc, outdoors too!

How I wish they also included the original song so we can play it after the new version.

Awit at Laro song book is sold for Php 899 at www.awitatlaro.com. The project aims to raise funds for UNICEF, Tukod Foundation and the Shining Light Foundation.
