Bird Watching with The Wild Bird Club of the Philippines

Gab and his homeschool friends woke up extra early for a trip to the Las Pinas Paranaque Wetland Park. We beat the morning traffic for the 6am call time!

We have the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines group with us and we’re fortunate to have their lead Mike Lu to orient and mentor the kids (and the moms too).

Here’s the video of the bird watching activity in Las Pinas – Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).

According to Gab, the spotted 6 birds in all – resident and migratory birds. September onward is the best time to come visit as migratory birds make their way to the warmer regions of the globe and this wetland is the birds roosting and feeding area.

The kids can learn about these birds by just reading a book but the first hand experience of spotting the birds made it more fun and memorable. The very early activity and the trip was all worth it!

Another thing to do in LPPCHEA is a EcoTour of the Freedom Island where the kids can learn about different kind of plants and explore the mangrove forest via the Boardwalk.

Interested in visiting the place?
Since LPPCHEA is a protected land area, you need a permit for your visit. You may call the Conservation and Development Division at (02) 435-2509.
