3D Shapes Paper Models

Thinking in 3 dimensions (3D) can be confusing for kids compared to thinking in just 2 dimensions. It is easier to visualize a square compared to a cube, or a triangle compared to a pyramid. But we can’t escape leaning about 3D Shapes since our entire world is 3D.

What makes it complicated is learning about the parts of these 3D shapes. You can easily get lost in counting how many faces, vertices and edges the common 3D objects have.

So here are paper models to help your kids appreciate 3D Shapes. Making 3D models is a great tool in learning the common 3D shapes.

Some tips and reminders in making the 3D Shapes Paper Models

  1. If possible, use a board instead of a thin bond paper.
  2. Color the shapes first before cutting and gluing the sides together.
  3. CUT on the straight lines and FOLD on the broken lines.
