Pangunahing Direksyon at Pangalawang Direksyon

Ang Apat Na Pangunahing Direksyon are the four cardinal directions or cardinal points. These are the equivalent for North, South, East and West, in Filipino or Tagalog . The Ordinal Directions, on the other hand, are called Pangalawang Direksyon in Tagalog. These are being used in maps and compasses to help people know the location of a place or how to find a place.

HILAGA (North, N)
TIMOG (South, S)
SILANGAN (East, E)
KANLURAN (West, W)

TIP: Silang means birth. Thus, Silangan is where the sun rises (East), when the day is born.

Ano ang mga Pangalawang Direksyon

The points in between each of the cardinal directions are called the ordinal directions. The Ordinal Directions are called Pangalawang Direksyon in Filipino or Tagalog.
