Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016 Schedule & Speakers

This 2016, organizers for the Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016 has prepared an even bigger event with the goal to meet the needs and address concerns of the growing homeschool families in the country.

Here are some things you can expect during the fun-packed conference.

Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016 Speakers

There will be four keynote speakers who are well known in the local and international homeschooling community that will surely inspire participants to provide their children with “roots,” build their foundation, and give them “wings” so they can soar to greater heights.

The keynote speakers include Deonna Tanchi and her daughter Joy Tanchi-Mendoza will be speaking as a tandem on “Building a Firm Foundation” – something that is crucial to every homeschooling family.

U.S.-based speaker Andrew Pudewa, director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (www.iew.com), and is a highly sought-after international speaker who specializes in issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music will be sharing about “Motivation: The Art and Science of Helping Children Learn Well.”

Lastly, Bo Sanchez, bestselling author, international speaker, and entrepreneur will talk about “Wings to Soar: Leaving a Legacy for Our Children”.

Other than these speakers, there will be breakout sessions facilitated by homeschooling parents with topics like the ins and outs of homeschooling in the Philippines, laying the foundation in preschool, and homeschooling the high
school years.

The conference fee is P1,000/ person and will give participant access to talks, breakout sessions and shop for at an expo.

          Children 3 years old and below who will be joining their parents in the keynote talks and breakout sessions get in free but with lap seating privileges only.

          Children 4 years old and above who will be joining their parents all throughout the talks and sessions pay P1000 per head.

For participants who wish to attend as a homeschooling co-op, support group, or any other kind of group, there is also a group rate of P4500 per group of 5 persons. For those who will be visiting only the PHC 2016 Expo, the entrance fee to the Expo area is P50 per head.

Kids’ Activities

Parents may opt to bring their kids and have them join the activities (under the supervision of a trusted adult companion) in the expo area.

Toddlers’ Area – SMILE Group will provide a toddlers’ area for kids ages 1-3 years old. (Fee is P500 per child for whole-day access to the Toddlers’ Area.)

Challenge Island sessions – Older children (5 and up) may also join the Challenge Island sessions by SMILE Group. Schedule to be released soon. Fee is P500 per child.

Calligraphy classes – For kids ages 7 and above, these classes will be conducted by homeschooled teens Meg and Maddie Barraca (afternoon class), and Marj Liwag of Little MsPrinter (morning class).

The Philippine Homeschool Conference is organized by The Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI) and Educating For Life (EFL).

HAPI  is a non-stock, nonprofit organisation that aims to equip homeschooling groups and organisations in growing the national homeschooling movement. Educating For Life (EFL) was founded by homeschooling parents to support families who have courageously decided to take the path less taken in educating their children.

  1. Hello.. can my 4 y/o daughter join the Challenge Island Session? As she might get bored with the toddlers area. thanks
